Baker's Delight...

Every so often, I get this idea in my head that I need to bake. I love, love, love to bake! I love getting my hands dirty (with flour, not actual dirt) and whipping up a batch or two of something that is completely and utterly bad for the ol' diet!! But how can I deny myself the fruits of my labor when this is what was made???
I can't. I have zero will power when it comes to homeade baked goods!

Notice there are no pictures of them finished, or iced. This is because they didn't last long enough to make it to the photo op!

This is my baking apprentice! How can you not love having that sweet face help out with the dishes! He really likes to use the scrub brush with soap! He gets more soap on the counter than in the sink but I am choosing my battles!

Seventh Inning Stretch...

This is the time of year where our family can slow down a little from the fast pace of the holiday season. We have about 12 birthdays, birthday dinners, birthday parties, 3 holidays, decorating, holiday shopping, traveling, cleaning up decorations, and a partridge in a pear tree! It's a mad dash for us from Halloween til the beginning of the year. It is a nice, relaxing time where we can just enjoy our time together and rest. It has been WONDERFUL!

It has also been fantastic because we have been snow covered (if you can really even call it that) for the past few days! Aiden loves to be outside and we have ad to keep him shut in the house lately because he has had a never ending cold that he now seems to have a handle on!

My little snow angel! Please disregard the snot dripping from his nose!

Bring The Heat...

It has been an arctic adventure around town lately and our outdoors man has been letting me know as often as he can that it is time to go outside. Finally the temperature has warmed up around here long enough to venture outside for a little while! Aiden got a John Deere power wheels for Christmas so we headed out back to let him ride!
 Happy Boy!
He is hangin on tight! He doesn't quite get how to turn the wheel yet! He really just holds on and goes in circles til we either turn the wheel for him, or he hits something.
Good new is, he does know how to put it in reverse to back off of whatever it was he hit! But then he just goes right back on it til we turn the wheel!

The other part to this exciting new toy is that it forces D and I to clean up after the dogs even more than normal or the tractor runs over every pile! It wouldn't be so bad if it were just Penny in the yard. She is very lady like and dainty, even in her messes. But ever since we got Rozzie, the French Bulldog, we have been dealing with man-poops in the back yard! Guess it comes with the territory!

Aiden's little face looks more "little boy" than "little" anymore! He is such a sweetie!

He loves to dance to videos on youtube. He likes all kinds of music and learning new ways to move his little body! They grow up too fast! He also likes to quiz us and ask "Sthat?" as he points to different things on the screen. He is a tough teacher!
